Wooster Places Third at John DiCillo Invitational
Ferrara logs second top-five finish of the fall
SHAKER HTS., Ohio – The College of Wooster men's golf team shot a 309 to finish third out of six teams at Monday's John DiCillo Invitational, which was hosted by John Carroll University at the par-70, 6,721-yard Shaker Heights Country Club.
Senior Evan Ferrara carded a 4-over-par 74 en route to his second top-five finish of the season. Classmate Jimmy Hinton finished two strokes behind the Fighting Scots' anchor, and that was good for a tie for 12th-place.
Sophomore Ben Foltz was next at 79, and he's been in the 70s during all five rounds this fall. Foltz tied for 23rd-place. Seniors Mac Bellovich and Evan Jenkins both had an 80 on Monday's scorecards and tied for 29th-place.
John Carroll won the tournament at 294, while the University of Mount Union was the runner-up at 306. The Blue Streaks' Sean O'Grady was the medalist at 71.
Next, Wooster's at Mount Union's Tannenhauf Fall Invitational, with action starting this Saturday at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance, Ohio.
