The College of Wooster men's golf team climbed a spot on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for fifth-place at the 2021 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series. The Fighting Scots fired a 332 on Saturday at the always-challenging par-72, 6,820-yard Westbrook Country Club to finish at 643.

David Roney just missed on all-conference honors, as the senior tied for 16th-place at 159. He was Wooster's low man on Saturday with an 81. Roney logged 11 pars on the day, and he played his final nine collegiate holes at 4-over-par. Of note, the communication sciences and disorders major capped his career with a 78.0 average over 39.5 rounds.

First-year Tyler Hilbert tied for 20th-place at 161. Hilbert fired an 82 on Saturday. The rookie pared the first four holes on the front-nine, and he opened the day with back-to-back pars on the par-4, 398-yard 10th hole and the par-4, 359-yard 11th hole.

Junior Ben Foltz tied for 22nd-place at 162. Foltz signed for an 83 on Saturday. The computer science major scored 10 pars on the day, and he made the turn at 4-over-par.

First-year David Dennis was a key contributor to the Scots climbing the leaderboard. He fired an 86 on Saturday in his lone event of the championship series. Dennis scored two of Wooster's three birdies on the day, with those coming on No. 11 and on the par-5, 506-yard eighth hole.

First-year Jacob Ullom capped his championship series with a 90. He tied for 29th-place at 165. Ullom's round was headlined by a birdie on the par-3, 447-yard 15th hole.

Denison University won its first conference title since 1968. The Big Red ran away from the field, winning by 34 strokes (582). Wittenberg University (616), DePauw University (635), and Wabash College (637) finished ahead of Allegheny College and Wooster.

The Big Red's Ben Scherman captured the Bob Nye Award – named in honor of the former Wooster men's golf and men's soccer coaching great – which is presented annually to the NCAC medalist. Scherman beat teammate Will Grady on the first playoff hole after the duo came in at 143 for the two-event championship series.
