Scots Capture Runner-Up Honors at Dan Caschera Invitational

Ben Foltz WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The College of Wooster men's golf team had a pair of top-five finishers at Saturday's 27-hole Dan Caschera Invitational, which was hosted by John Carroll University at River Greens Golf Course. The Fighting Scots took second out of four teams at 453.

Sophomore Jacob Ullom tied for third-place with a 2-over-par 110. Ullom carded back-to-back 37s to start his day, and his third nine-hole split came back at even par.

Senior Ben Foltz tied for fifth-place with a 3-over-par 111. Foltz played two of the nine-hole layouts at River Greens at even par and had a 39 on the third.

Sophomore Tyler Hilbert rounded out the Scots in the top-10. Hilbert was part of a three-way tie for eighth-place at 113. Hilbert played his second nine-hole stretch at even par.

First-year Krishang Nayak was just outside the top-10. His 114 was part of a four-way tie for 11th-place. Nayak matched Hilbert with an even par second nine.

First-year Sam Norris checked in two strokes back of Nayak. Norris tied for 17th-place.

Sophomore David Dennis and first-year Noah Jackman were the other Scots in Saturday's lineup. Dennis tied for 21st-place at 117, while Jackman finished in 25th-place after a 118.

Host John Carroll's 441 led the way. The Blue Streaks' Johnny Roder went 5-under-par to claim medalist honors.

River Greens Golf Course is comprised of three different nine-hole layouts. They are referred to as River, Greens, and Pines.

Wooster's busy stretch concludes on Monday when the Scots take on Hiram College in a match-play event at Kirtland Country Club.
