Nayak Scores Fourth NCAC Weekly Award

Krish Nayak, Wooster Golf Junior Krish Nayak has been one of the anchors at the forefront of The College of Wooster's remarkable start to the season, and the Fighting Scots' star is now a four-time North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.

Nayak helped Wooster to a pair of tournament titles last week, while individually, he scored a pair of top-seven finishes. Nayak was a key player in Wooster's 10-stroke come-from-behind victory at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational, finishing tied for the individual lead with a 3-over-par 147. Nayak lost out on the medalist tiebreaker, but was very solid all weekend, with all four of his nine-hole stretches at Tannenhauf Golf Club registering at 37 or better.

Earlier in the week, Nayak tied for seventh-place at the inaugural Westfield Collegiate Golf Classic, which marked the program's first time winning multiple tournaments in consecutive seasons since the Scots were the defending NCAA Div. III national champion in 1976. Nayak shot a 157 at Westfield.

Nayak was a two-time NCAC Athlete of the Week as a sophomore and earned his first one following opening the spring 2022 slate with a third-place finish at the Bluffton University Spring Invitational.

Wooster's attempt at a fourth straight tournament title comes on October 9 at the one-day John Carroll University John DiCillo Invitational.
