Weschler’s Career Day Leads Wooster Past Mount St. Joseph, 13-6

The College of Wooster got a career-high six goals from senior Mark Weschler, helping the Fighting Scots roll to a 13-6 victory Saturday afternoon at the College of Mount St. Joseph during non-conference men's lacrosse action.

In addition to Weschler, who totaled eight points in all, also a career single-game career-best while tallying two assists, the Scots got multiple points from junior Alex Mies, sophomore Matt Pullara, senior Chris Gatsch, and junior Pat Coyne.

Mies collected team-high honors in assists with four, a career high, and accounted for three goals as well, good for a career-best seven-point effort, while Pullara tacked on two scores and a helper. Additionally, Gatsch and Coyne split Wooster's other two goals and two assists between them.

Defensively, freshman goalie Corey McGann made five saves to help preserve the victory for the Scots, while Pullara and sophomore Graham Zimmerman were both credited with six ground balls.

Wooster continues its early season schedule this Wednesday with its first home game against Trine University (0-1). Face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
