The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team dropped a 13-9 contest to Albion College on Saturday.

Shaun Peirce and Drake Nickolaison led the Scots with two goals each. However, the Albion duo of Alec Palmer and Jace Conley found the back of the net a combined nine times as Palmer scored a game-high five goals.

Albion kicked the game off by taking the faceoff and scoring within the first 13 seconds via a goal from Scott Shepard.

Wooster got on the board after trailing 2-1 when Joe Citera recorded his first goal of the season with 9:35 left in the first quarter. A late goal by Conley gave Albion a 3-1 lead after one quarter.

Wooster made it 3-2 following a goal by Zach Cunanan as he scored his first goal of the year in a man-up situation. Peirce also scored in the quarter as Wooster trailed 6-3 at halftime.

In the second half, Wooster received back-to-back goals from Cullen Kuhn and Adam Yeo. Yet, Albion pulled away between the third and fourth quarters, scoring three unanswered goals. They took a 7-5 lead and only expanded to 10-5 with 14:07 left in the game.

In the fourth, the teams played to 4-4 stalemate. David Fitzgerald scored his first goal on the year, while Nickolaison scored both his goals with three minutes remaining. Peirce added his second goal earlier in the quarter.

Wesley Wagner collected 14 saves, while his counterpart Josh Luketic made 13 saves.

Albion was successful in 18-of-25 face offs, which led to their success on the offensive end. Both teams took 38 shots. Albion had 30 ground balls to Wooster's 23.

Wooster dropped to 0-4, while Albion improved to 1-3 on the season. The Scots travel to Trinity (Conn.) on March 13.
