Fisher Scoops Up NCAC Athlete of the Week Honors
First-year was 40-of-53 on faceoffs last week
The College of Wooster's Jimmy Fisher was unstoppable last week on faceoffs for the Fighting Scots' men's lacrosse team, and the North Coast Athletic Conference honored the rookie with its Athlete of the Week Award, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Fisher, who helped Wooster improve to 4-0 in NCAC play for the third time since 2017, won 40-of-53 faceoffs, including 20-of-24 during Saturday's 11-10 overtime win at Allegheny College. Fisher added 27 groundballs on the week, with 15 coming in Tuesday's 17-9 victory.
The faceoff specialist added a goal on two shots in Saturday's win.
Fisher's currently in the top 25 in faceoff percentage within NCAA Div. III. He's won 87-of-124 faceoffs this year, good for a percentage just north of 70.
Fisher's Wooster's first NCAC Athlete of the Week for men's lacrosse since Shaun Peirce earned the honor on March 26, 2018.
Wooster's (4-1, 4-0 NCAC East Division) slated to be back in action at Kenyon College (1-0, 0-0 NCAC East Division)) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.
