All-NCAC Men's Lacrosse Release

Senior attacker Shaun Peirce, senior midfielder Connor Mangan, and first-year defender Casey Steffen earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference East Division honors, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.

Peirce, Wooster's 18th player to be a three- or four-time All-NCAC selection, earned the elevation to the East Division team after earning honorable mention certificates as a first-year and sophomore. The offensive juggernaut led the team with 25 goals, a total that's currently tied for third within the NCAC. Peirce erupted for a pair of eight-goal games this spring against Allegheny College, with that total ranking one shy of the single-game program record. Peirce is responsible for three of the six games in program history where a Scot has scored at least eight times.

Mangan, a first-time all-conference honoree, ranked second on the team with 22 goals and third with 30 points. The four-year impact player was also second on the team with 27 groundballs. Mangan scooped up a season-high eight groundballs and netted a co-season-best four goals during Wooster's 17-9 win over Allegheny on April 10. His other four-goal game came in the season opener at Wittenberg University.

Steffen, the first Wooster rookie to earn all-conference laurels since Peirce in 2018, quickly established himself as the back line's anchor. Steffen's team-leading 20 caused turnovers were double the next-closest total on the team. Steffen opened divisional play with season-highs in groundballs (five) and caused turnovers (five) during a 29-1 rout of Hiram College on March 31. He later added a second five-groundball game against Ohio Wesleyan University on April 20, and caused four turnovers in the season finale versus Allegheny on May 1.

With the shift to divisional format in men's lacrosse due to COVID-19, the NCAC adopted an East Division and a West Division all-conference squad in lieu of traditional first- and second-team all-conference designations.

Wooster finished its season at 6-5 with a 4-2 mark in NCAC East play.
