Steffen Named NCAC Athlete of the Week

Across all of his accolades, Casey Steffen finally captured his first North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honor after leading The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team to a pair of wins last week.

The senior collected five groundballs and caused three turnovers in each of the team's wins - an 11-9 victory over Allegheny College and a 17-10 win against DePauw University to open NCAC play.

In addition to those stats, Steffen also collected his third assist of the year, finding Ben Byars in the second quarter of the team's win over DePauw. It was a crucial quarter for the Scots, who outscored the Tigers 4-0 to take an 8-3 lead at halftime.

Currently, Steffen leads the team and the NCAC with 40 caused turnovers and is second on the team with 40 groundballs.

The Scots (7-3, 1-0 NCAC) travel to Wittenberg University for another NCAC matchup on Saturday.
