Steffen NCAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for the Second Time
Senior became 11th player in Div. III history to surpass 175 caused turnovers on Saturday
Senior Casey Steffen earned North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the second time on Tuesday for his play in Saturday's 24-8 win over Hiram College.
Steffen caused six turnovers and had five groundballs, as Wooster improved to 3-0 in NCAC play on Saturday. It marked his fifth game with at least five caused turnovers this spring. Steffen is currently first nationally in caused turnovers per game and became the 11th player in NCAA Div. III history to surpass 175 caused turnovers since it became an officially-tracked statistic.
Wooster (9-3, 3-0 NCAC) hosts Oberlin College (8-3, 2-1 NCAC) at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
