Men's Lacrosse Ends Regular Season with Road Win

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season on the road with a 15-6 North Coast Athletic Conference victory over Wabash College on Saturday.

Lane Kellogg and Will Fink led the Scots with a game-high four goals each.

Kellogg's four goals put him at 48 on the year, now tied for fifth in a single season. Fink's four goals put him at 100 points for his career.

Two others scored three goals in Vinny DiLeo and Ben Byars.

DiLeo now has 123 career goals to take sole possession of fifth in program history. His 123 scored are the most since Tom Bennett's school record of 162 from 1990-93.

The three scores from Byars puts him at 99 points for his career.

Luke Budd was Wooster's other goal scorer. Budd put Wooster on the board with 11:30 in the first quarter.

Wabash (8-8, 1-7 NCAC) opened with the first two scores and led 4-3 after the opening stanza.

However, Wooster would go on to outscore the Little Giants 4-1 in the second quarter and 8-1 in the second half.

Wooster added 12 assists on their 15 goals. Shane Epstein-Petrullo and Austin Jourde led with three, while Kellogg and DiLeo each added a pair.

Jimmy Fisher recorded a game-high 11 groundballs. Fisher also was 12 of 21 in faceoff opportunities.

Casey Steffen followed with seven groundballs, and Paul Chandler got the win in net, making eight saves in 49:34.

Wooster had 47 groundballs to Wabash's 32, and Wabash committed 27 turnovers to Wooster's 15. The Scots took 58 shots and was successful on 21 of 22 clears.

The Scots are now 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the NCAC. They will compete in the NCAC Tournament next with details to emerge following the conclusion of Saturday's games.
