Seideman Named USILA President
Wooster coach leading coaching organization
Eric Seideman has been selected by his peers to serve as president of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, as announced recently by the organization.
Seideman is in his third year as The College of Wooster's head men's lacrosse coach. The program enjoyed its best season in Seideman's first year with the program, as the Fighting Scots set new program records for wins (13) and consecutive wins (11). Casey Steffen was named an All-American after breaking the NCAA Div. III single-season record with 5.06 caused turnovers per game. Steffen's 86 caused turnovers more than doubled the program's single-season record and at the time were the third-most since the NCAA started officially tracking the statistic in 2013. Additionally, Wooster led the nation by holding the opposition to a 62.7 clearing percentage and had top-three national rankings in groundballs (45.00) and caused turnovers (14.88) per game. Then-junior Shane Epstein-Petrullo was voted a third-team College Sports Communicators Academic All-American®.
More recently, Seideman's 2024 team earned a record three All-America honors, with Steffen, junior Will Fink, and sophomore Lane Kellogg voted to the team. Wooster posted an 11-7 record and tied its high mark with five NCAC wins. Wooster qualified for the NCAC Tournament for the first time in five seasons, and alumnus Vinny DiLeo became the fourth player in program history to surpass 200 career points and the first since 1993.
Seideman previously chaired the USILA Div. III All-America committee, served as a top-20 poll voter, was a NCAA regional advisory committee representative, and served as a site representative for the NCAA Div. III Championship. He was a coach for the organization's Div. III senior all-star game in 2024.
