Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I knew Wooster was a place where I could thrive academically, athletically, and socially while pursuing my postgraduate goals. The connections and networks Wooster creates and provides outlast the four years spent here.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: Being a Fighting Scot means wanting to become a better version of yourself every day and wanting the best for those around you as well. It means always doing your best to win the day and go 1-0 in everything you do.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: Spending time with my best friends. Memories like golfing, going to the movies, or playing hockey in our room stand out to me as the moments I want to remember from my time at Wooster.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part is being able to do what you love every day with your best friends by your side. Winning games and competing together is amazing, but doing things like shooting around together on the field, going to team lifts, or hanging out in Lowry Student Center are the most memorable moments.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I was a member of the club ice hockey team and worked as a stream broadcaster for home basketball, soccer, and volleyball contests as a senior.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: Dr. Kent Kille has been the most influential and helpful professor I have had at Wooster. From sparking my interest in political science as a first-year to guiding me through my senior Independent Study, he has helped shape me into a better student and inspired my post-graduation goals.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Coach Eric Seideman, Coach Josh Mace, and Nate Huston have all been incredibly supportive and inspiring in overcoming adversity and navigating unfamiliar situations. Without their encouragement and guidance, I would likely not be where I am today physically or mentally.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am exploring the relationship between participation in mega sporting events and the impact on diplomacy between politically rivalling states.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: Two experiences that stand out to me are my study abroad experience in Geneva, Switzerland and our lacrosse spring break trip to Colorado. While they were certainly different environments, the opportunities to travel, spend time with friends, and see new parts of the world were incredibly valuable to me.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: Be patient and do not wish the days away. Beginning college is an incredibly big and scary change for most people, but you will find some of your best friends at college and learn to love every aspect of the new life you are making for yourself.
