Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: Wooster provides a smaller classroom atmosphere where you can build connections with your professors. Having the ability to connect with them builds an excellent learning environment that is much more engaging than larger colleges.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: Being a Fighting Scot is all about comradery on and off the field. There is no better feeling than gameday with the fellas. We are all ready to play for one another and achieve a common goal.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: Going on the spring break trips with the team is the best. Being able to experience new places and new things with your 50 best friends while also playing lacrosse is an unmatched feeling.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part about being a student-athlete is the friends you make on the team and the availability of the coaching staff. No matter what struggles I had, the coaches or my teammates were always there, whether it involved my courses or lacrosse.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am a member of the Archaeology Student Colloquium.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: Dr. Olivia Navarro-Farr has definitely made the biggest impact on my time here at Wooster. She is more than just a professor and a mentor. She has guided me through my Independent Study and through my future career as an archaeologist. I have had so many questions about what I should do after my senior year, and she has helped me to make the right decisions to be successful and enjoy the things I love.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Coach Josh Mace has made a great impact in helping me reach my potential as an athlete. He cares about the wellbeing of every athlete here. He is not only a great strength coach but a friend.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am discussing the use of photogrammetry (three-dimensional modeling) on underwater archaeological sites and shipwrecks. Photogrammetry provides a means to introduce out of sight, out of mind sites to the broader public while also collaborating with African Diasporic communities in Turks and Caicos. The data for my I.S. comes from the three-dimensional model of a submerged anchor in Turks and Caicos that was discovered on a survey during a field school I was a part of.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: While at Wooster, I attended two field schools with The Shipwreck Survey during the summers of 2023 and 2024. During the field schools, I was trained in the methods of underwater archaeology and worked on various sites in Turks and Caicos. We were mainly based on the island of Salt Cay and spent a few days visiting smaller, uninhabited islands. We dove and worked on many shipwreck sites, created photogrammetric models, and discovered new sites that we documented and photographed.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: I would tell myself to change nothing. Everything you did led you in a direction to make some of the best memories you will ever have and have friends that will last a lifetime.
