Our "Senior Salute" series continues with Aidan Hyatt, a psychology major from Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland. Hyatt is a member of the men's lacrosse team.
Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I chose Wooster for the Independent Study, campus, and competitive lacrosse program.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: It means establishing lifelong friendships that stem from going through adversity together and learning time management and prioritization.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: Beating Albion College away from home on a cold Wednesday night and not getting back to campus until 2 a.m.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part is the balance of sports, academics, and social life.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am involved with the Homework for Hoops service program where we mentor local at-risk youth by engaging with them in social, academic, and athletic settings.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: Dr. Meredith Hope has had the greatest impact on me because she propelled my development in the field of psychology by giving me great resources to explore for life after college.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Amber Larson in APEX (Wooster's center for advising, planning, and experiential learning) has helped a huge deal by giving me academic support when needed.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am exploring obsessive-compulsive disorder-related symptoms in current and former students.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: Our spring break trip to Florida as a first-year was one of my favorite memories with the team.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: Establish a routine.
