NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- A dominating second quarter proved to be the difference for The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team on Wednesday as they defeated Westminster College 13-9.
Outside of the second quarter, Westminster held a one goal advantage. Yet, Wooster started the second quarter down 4-3, but its five unanswered goals gave them an 8-4 halftime lead.
Wooster started the game on back-to-back goals from Lane Kellogg and Jack Holub. However, Westminster stringed together four straight scores to take the lead.
Wooster scored next on a goal from Rowan Piani, which began a streak of six unanswered that lasted until halftime.
Four different Scots scored in the second, which included two from Kellogg. Austin Jourde, John Allen Ginder and Will Crane each found the back of the net as well.
