Kenyon College got a goal during the fourth minute of
Saturday's North Coast Athletic Conference men's soccer
match-up with The College of Wooster and that held up as the only
score, as the Lords edged the Fighting Scots 1-0 in Gambier,
Ohio.
Wooster (4-5-1, 1-1-0 NCAC) faced 30 shots from host Kenyon (7-3-1,
1-0-0 NCAC), but freshman 'keeper Taylor Takacs and the
Scots' backfield kept the game within striking distance. Only
seven of the Lords' attempts were on goal, as Takacs was
credited with six saves.
The only shot that found its mark was a Jeremy Fischer header off
Felix Hoffman's corner kick just 3:41 into the action.
Wooster will look to bounce back next Saturday afternoon when it
hosts rival Wittenberg University (10-0, 1-0 NCAC).
