MARIETTA, Ohio – Marietta College defeated The College of Wooster men's soccer team 3-1 on Saturday night.

Wooster tied it in the second half but two late goals from Marietta promptly put the game away.

Marietta took the lead in the 18th minute with a goal from Luke Maher, and they held that through halftime and into the 65th minute. That's when Andreas Xenofontos tied it with a header off a cross from Bennett Anderson

However, Marietta responded with two long goals that Wooster could not contain. In the 74th minute Cole Pappas scored from 20 yards out. The Pioneers then put the game away in the 81st minute when Andy Rolfes scored from 30 yards off a free kick.

Both teams took 12 shots and six shots on goal. Wooster goalkeeper Will Collis made three saves.

Marietta improved to 3-3 with the win. The Scots drop to 3-2-1 overall and will host Capital University on Wednesday.
