The College of Wooster men's soccer team gave Calvin College all it could handle on Saturday but the nationally ranked Knights needed overtime to pull ahead in a 2-1 decision.

Calvin, who entered the year ranked second in the United Soccer Coaches preseason Top 25 poll and are now ranked 15th, kicked into overdrive once the first overtime began. Wooster succesfully survived four consecutive corner kicks, but Calvin scored a minute later when Wooster got a little bit of breathing room.

Hunter Olson scored the game winner in the 95th minute when Olson bumped into Wooster keeper Will Collis and jarred the ball free.

The first half was as competitive as Wooster could have hoped for. Wooster broke the scoreless tie in the 22nd minute with a penalty kick goal from senior Manny Burton.

The Scots took the 1-0 lead into halftime with a -2 shot differential.

Calvin showed their might for the rest of the game, outshooting Wooster 19-3 in the 2nd half and overtime combined. Calvin tied it in the 55th minute as Drew Van Andel scored his first goal of the season.

Calvin ended up outshooting Wooster 27-9 for the game. They also took 17 corner kicks to Wooster's two.

The senior Collis ended with five saves as did his counterpart Chris Morrish.

Calvin improved to 5-1. Wooster drops to 1-5. The Scots return to action Wednesday when they travel to Capital University.
