Men Fail to Find Win Column for First Time this Year

Soccer Team DEFIANCE – The College of Wooster men's soccer team hit the road this weekend for Defiance College's Purple and Gold Classic. In their opening game Saturday, they fell to Capital University 2-0.

Capital struck first in the 14th minute. Capital's Sam Spirk worked the right side of the field and found teammate Jack Kossoudji near the front of the goal for its first score.

Later, Spirk scored unassisted in the 48th minute of the second half.

Wooster had plenty of offensive opportunities, outshooting the Yellow Jackets 16-8. Senior Max Hill recorded two of Wooster's six shots on goal.

Sophomore Jason Prather made two saves in net to take the loss.

Wooster moves to 1-1, while Capital stays undefeated at 2-0.

The Scots will look to collect a win in the tournament's finale Sunday when they take on the host Yellow Jackets.
