Scots Put Up Five in Win Over Westminster

Max Wiley First-year Max Wiley scored twice as The College of Wooster men's soccer team's aggressive attack on the pitch led to a 5-2 victory in its home opener against Westminster College on Thursday.

Wiley scored the game's first goal in the fifth minute off an assist from senior Bennett Anderson. However, Westminster answered minutes later with a goal from Zac Marzula.

Wooster strung four consecutive goals after that quick answer with three to finish the first half and another in the second.

Junior Luca Napora scored his first goal of the year and the second of his collegiate career. He scored off a throw in from Jack Whitehouse.

Wiley struck again in the 36th minute. This time junior Langston Hood was credited with the assist.

Junior Moody Saadi joined Napora in scoring his first goal of the year and second as a Fighting Scot. Senior Caleb King led him for the assist.

Finally, first-year Miles Rochester connected on his first collegiate goal after catching the Titans off guard on a free kick near the top of the penalty box.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jason Prather made five saves to collect the win in net. It was his second win so far this year.

Wooster outshot the Titans 21-14. Each team had three corner kicks.

Wooster moves to 3-1, while Westminster drops to 2-2. The Scots head to John Carroll University on Saturday.
