Scots Fall to No. 15 Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The College of Wooster men's soccer team took a tough 3-0 loss to the 15th-ranked Kenyon College Lords on Tuesday.

Kenyon (10-1-1, 5-0-0) won their 11th straight and stayed undefeated in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Wooster dropped to 8-6-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play.

The Kenyon attack came early and often, and they struck first in the 19th minute. Luke Muther sent a sharp cross to the middle of the box for Sam Carson to score.

Despite the heavy attack, Wooster kept Kenyon at bay for the remainder of the half and trailed just 1-0 at halftime.

The game started to get away from the Scots when Kenyon scored twice in a span of 3:11. Scott Upton scored on a penalty kick in the 56tth minute. Then Upton found Sebastian Gaese for Kenyon to go ahead 3-0.

The Lords outshot Wooster 14-2. Jack Whitehouse and Max Wiley each took a shot. Wooster also did not get a corner kick in the game, while Kenyon took eight.

Sophomore Jason Prather made two saves in the loss. Senior Hamilton Schattgen made one save in the final six minutes.

The Scots have three regular season games left and will travel to Oberlin College on Saturday.
