The College of Wooster men's soccer team showed resiliency to battle back from a 1-0 deficit, but Adrian College scored twice in the final three minutes to capture a late 3-2 win on Saturday.
Adrian (8-0) looked as if their undefeated streak was going to end but somehow found a way to not only erase a 2-1 deficit but capture the win in the final minutes of the game.
To tie it at 2-2 in the 87th minute, Chris Czyz scored on a spin move from the left side of the box as his shot found the back right corner and out of the reach of first-year keeper Eddie Glucksman.
Adrian was then awarded a penalty kick in the 88th minute, about 1:20 later, on a tackle inside the box. Dante Perri scored in the left, bottom corner as Glucksman guessed right but could not extend his reach far enough.
Wooster capitalized on its own penalty kick in the 77th minute, which put them ahead 2-1. Aris Christodoulou scored for his second of the year.
That capped off what Wooster would hope to be a comeback from a 1-0 deficit.
Adrian scored the game's first goal in the 24th minute when Owen Emert found Tyler Berezak in the middle of the box for the goal.
Wooster would not find the equalizer until the 71st minute when Connor Shea crossed a ball to find the head of Robert Hillhouse.
For the sophomore Hillhouse, it was his first collegiate goal as a Fighting Scot.
Wooster maintained a consistent attack throughout the match, outshooting the Bulldogs 23-8. However, only five shots were on goal.
Wooster also took nine corner kicks to Adrian's four.
Glucksman took the loss, making one save in the second half. Senior Andrew Beazley played the first half but did not record a save.
Adrian goalkeeper Eli Sizemore finished with three saves.
Wooster (5-4-1) wraps up non-conference play and will host Oberlin College in the team's first North Coast Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday.
