Senior scored and assisted in team's NCAC opener
Senior Max Wiley was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week after guiding The College of Wooster men's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Oberlin College on Saturday.
Wiley scored and assisted in the team's NCAC opener and lone match of the week. Wiley assisted on the opening goal just 1:45 into the contest, finding Elliot Miller for the score.
Later, Wiley tied the game at 2-2 in the 33rd minute. Ioannis Aristodemou took a shot that was saved but Wiley was able to collect the pieces for the goal.
Wiley has two goals on the season, tied atop the team's list with four others. His five points puts him in a tie for the team lead with classmate Mason Garza.
Wooster is 6-4-1 overall and 1-0 in the NCAC. They travel to Hiram College on Wednesday.
