The College of Wooster men's tennis team notched another
victory on the young season, as the Fighting Scots moved to 2-0
this spring with a 6-3 decision over Ohio Wesleyan University
Wednesday evening inside Gordon Field House in Delaware, Ohio.
Wooster picked up two points in doubles play with three easy wins.
After falling at No. 1 doubles, the tandem of senior Jeremy Dominik
and freshman Matt Hoch pulled out an 8-1 win over Brandon Luttinger
and Max Razmakhin at No. 2. During No. 3 action, senior Chris
Collen and sophomore Brad Palanski posted an 8-2 victory.
The Scots dominated the top of the singles lineup as well with
senior Pat Grab, winning the first set at No. 1 and led 3-1 before
his opponent was forced to retire, and Dominik falling in the first
set (6-4) before winning the next two sets easily by 6-0, 6-0
scores at No. 2 (6-0, 6-4). Also posting straight-set victories and
securing the match for the Scots was Hoch at No. 5 (6-2, 7-5) and
freshman Matt Mandell at No. 6 (6-4, 6-2),
Next up for Wooster on the schedule is a trip to Ohio Athletic
Conference foe Otterbein College (2-3) next Wednesday with the
match scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
