Case Western Reserve Silences Wooster 9-0

The College of Wooster men's tennis team was overwhelmed on Thursday, as Case Western ReserveCase Western Reserve University powered past the Fighting Scots 9-0 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Spartans (9-11) rolled through doubles action, receiving only slight resistance at the No. 2 spot from Wooster's Matt Mandell and Steve Conroy in an 8-3 win. Wooster had some solid moments in singles competition, including No. 1 Matt Hoch's second set in a 6-1, 6-3 loss, and No. 5 Brad Palanski's second set of a 6-1, 6-4 setback, but no one was able to take a match.

The Scots (4-5) will look for a better outcome next weekend when they compete in the Great Lakes Colleges Association Tournament at Gambier and Granville, Ohio.
