Biniker’s Decision at No. 2 Singles the Difference in 5-4 Win Over Malone

For the second time in its two matches this season, The College of Wooster men's tennis team overcame a 2-1 deficit in doubles by winning four singles matches as the Fighting Scots edged Malone University 5-4 on Saturday inside the Central Tennis & Fitness Club in Wooster, Ohio.

After Zack Rotter and David Greetham secured the lone doubles point for Wooster (2-0), an 8-3 decision at the No. 3 position, the Scots exhibited excellent depth in the singles lineup. The fourth through sixth spots all went to Wooster in decisive fashion, with Rotter at No. 4, Sam Susanin at No. 5, and Greetham at No. 6 prevailing by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores.

The match came down to second singles where Wooster freshman Nick Biniker was locked in a battle with Hunter Atkins. Biniker took the opening set 6-3, lost a close second 6-4, and ultimately prevailed 6-2 in the third to seal the victory.
