Landon Moore pushed his opponent at No. 1 singles to the brink, and The College of Wooster was competitive in a handful of other matches, but Wabash College upended the Fighting Scots 9-0 on Sunday inside Heismann Fieldhouse at Oberlin, Ohio.
One bright spot for Wooster came at No 1 singles, as Moore and Wabash's Peter Gunderman needed to play deep into a third set to determine a winner. Moore won the opening set 7-5, but Gunderman rallied to take the next two sets 6-1, 10-7 and notch the tough victory.
Wabash won rather handily in most of the other singles contests, but David Greetham was solid at No. 6 despite suffering a 7-6 (8-2), 6-2 setback.
In doubles action, No. 2 tandem Nick Biniker and Paul Thomas and No. 3 Sam Susanin and Alex Turner were competitive, but were eventually dropped 8-6 and 8-4, respectively.
The Scots will be back on the court on Mar. 13 when they begin their annual spring break trip at Hilton Head, S.C.
