Scots Edge Out Endicott 5-4 During Southern Swing

The College of Wooster men's tennis team wrapped up its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., where it picked up a 5-4 win over Endicott College, and had several other solid individual match results.

The Scots were tripped up by Manhattanville College 7-2, but then rebounded with a 5-4 victory over Endicott on their second day down south. The next two matches resulted in losses to Hobart College (9-0) and Missouri Valley College (8-1), and then Wooster was upended 6-3 by Illinois Wesleyan University in a more closely contested match that ended the trip.

Highlighting Wooster's leaders was David Greetham, who went 3-2 at No. 6 singles, and also picked up two doubles wins at No. 3 with partner Zack Rotter. Against Manhattanville, Greetham got past his opponent in a marathon 13-11 tiebreaker set, while in Wooster's win over Endicott, he won much more decisively (6-3, 6-0).

At No. 2 singles, Nick Biniker notched a win over Manhattanville, and he also scored a pair of wins at No. 2 doubles with classmate Paul Thomas during the trip. Thomas also won at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-2 against his opponent from Illinois Wesleyan.

Others picking up wins in Hilton Head were No. 1 singles Landon Moore and No. 3 Zack Rotter, both coming in the Scots' win over Endicott.

Wooster returns to action back home Tuesday when they host Muskingum College (0-2) at 4 p.m.
