Scots Tripped Up in NCAC Opener Against Oberlin

The College of Wooster dropped its match with Oberlin College 8-1 on Tuesday in both teams North Coast Athletic Conference opener at the John W. Heisman Field House in Oberlin, Ohio.

The Scots (4-7, 0-1 NCAC) were competitive early in doubles action, as No. 1 Paul Thomas and Nick Biniker (8-4) and No. 2 Landon Moore and John Schulz (8-5) each had solid matches.

Thomas notched Wooster's lone victory in his No. 5 singles match, as he led 4-3 in the opening set before his opponent retired from the contest. Also noteworthy, Biniker hung around at No. 2 singles, but eventually was dealt a 6-2, 6-4 setback.

This weekend, the Scots will in the Great Lakes College Association Tournament at Kalamazoo, Mich.
