It was a mixed bag of results for The College of Wooster men's tennis team during its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., as the Fighting Scots won two matches, dropped a pair of closely-contested tilts, and other setbacks came against some high-caliber competition.

Wooster, which now owns a 5-6 overall record, split its first two matches of the trip, highlighted by a 9-0 sweep over Edgewood College. A tough 5-4 loss to Westminster (Mo.) College ensued, followed by one to traditionally-strong regional foe Macalester College (9-0) and NAIA Georgetown (Ky.) College (7-2). On their final day there, the Scots again split, with the victory coming against Concordia (Wis.) University (6-3).

During the southern swing, Wooster experienced good success in singles play at the top of the lineup. Paul Thomas went 3-3 at the No. 2 position, while Landon Moore also won three matches at No. 1 (3-4). The Scots combined to go 4-3 at the fifth spot, with Nick Biniker going 2-1 there as he works his way back from an injury. Also posting a 2-1 mark was Zack Rotter at No. 4.

Head coach Hayden Schilling used a variety of doubles combinations, nine to be exact. The most successful pairing was Erik Lindberg and Tom Pera, as they won two matches in as many attempts at the No. 2 position.

After a little over a week layoff from competition, Wooster returns to action on April 2 with a visit from Capital University (3-8) at 4 p.m.
