The College of Wooster men's tennis team scored a couple of singles victories, but ultimately fell 7-2 in its match-up with rival Wittenberg University on Thursday at Springfield, Ohio.
Wooster (6-11) fell behind 3-0 during the doubles competition, despite a strong effort from David Greetham and John Schulz at the No. 3 position where they pushed their foes to an 8-5 decision.
Greetham went on to notch a win at No. 6 singles. He won the first set 6-3 and was leading 2-1 in the second when his opponent retired. Nick Biniker added a point at No. 4, taking a first-set tiebreaker 7-4 and then cruising to a 6-1 triumph during the second.
The Fighting Scots continue their busy week with a fourth match in five days on Friday when Baldwin-Wallace College (20-0) visits at 4:30 p.m.
