For the second time in as many matches, The College of Wooster men's tennis team just missed picking up a victory against a North Coast Athletic Conference East opponent, as Oberlin College edged out the Fighting Scots 5-4 on Tuesday evening at John W. Heisman Field House in Oberlin, Ohio.

The Scots' (5-9, 0-2 NCAC East) strength this season has been its depth in the lineup, and that theme continued in this contest, as their singles wins came at No. 4, 5, and 6, and in doubles, their triumph was at the third-spot.

Each of Wooster's victories in singles competition was similar, with the first set being closely-contested, and the second set being much more decisive. Paul Thomas won 6-4, 6-2 at the fourth-spot, Harrison Suttle won 7-5, 6-3 at the fifth-spot, and Zack Rotter took his match at No. 6 by a 7-5, 6-1 margin.

The pairing of Thomas and Suttle were 8-5 winners, and Wooster nearly took the second doubles match as well, but Rotter and David Greetham came up just shy in a 9-7 setback.

Next, Wooster will visit non-conference foe Ohio Northern University (7-4) on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
