The College of Wooster men's tennis team won a couple of singles matches against traditional Ohio Athletic Conference power Ohio Northern University, but it was not enough as the Polar Bears prevailed 7-2 in Thursday's non-league match-up at Ada, Ohio.
Wooster (5-10) was behind 3-0 after the doubles competition, despite a strong effort from Harrison Suttle and Paul Thomas as they took five games before succumbing 8-5 at the third slot.
Suttle bounced back in singles action, winning fairly decisively, 6-1, 6-4, at the fifth position, while Zack Rotter continued his strong season at No. 6 with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 victory. That raised Rotter's season record to 12-1 overall, including 11-1 at the sixth spot.
The Fighting Scots are off from competition until Saturday afternoon, April 13, when they host North Coast Athletic Conference East Division foe Allegheny College (8-0, 0-0 NCAC East).
