The College of Wooster men's tennis team took 10 games in doubles action against the second-ranked program in NCAA Div. III, and were competitive at several spots in the singles lineup as well, but ultimately, Kenyon College swept the Fighting Scots 9-0 in a North Coast Athletic Conference East Division match-up Monday afternoon at Gambier, Ohio.

The Scots (5-12, 0-4 NCAC East) weren't easy to get rid of in doubles competition, especially at the third-spot, where teammates David Greetham and Paul Thomas were setback only by an 8-5 margin. The No. 1 pairing of Willy Nelson and Milo Saurman and No. 2's John Schulz and Jacob Pine also showed resistance, but fell by scores of 8-3 and 8-2, respectively.

Kenyon (15-4, 1-0 NCAC East) was more decisive in its singles victories, although No. 5 Thomas (6-2, 6-2) and No. 6 Zack Rotter (6-2, 6-3) had strong moments in very challenging battles.

Next, the men will host Denison University on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
