Rivals Wittenberg University and The College of Wooster went shot-for-shot on the tennis court Saturday afternoon, with the Tigers emerging from a series of very competitive matches as 6-3 victors at Shelmar Tennis & Fitness Club in Wooster, Ohio.

The freshmen team of Willy Nelson and Milo Saurman helped Wooster (5-14) get off to a solid start with an 8-6 win at the top of the doubles lineup, but Wittenberg (15-6) took the other two spots for a 2-1 lead.

Three of the six singles matches went the distance, including Harrison Suttle and Zack Rotter prevailing 10-8 for the Scots in third-set super tiebreakers at No. 5 (7-5, 4-6, 1-0) and No. 6 (6-7, 6-0, 1-0), respectively. Saurman and his opponent at the third position played out their three-set affair, with the Tigers taking it by a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 count, while Nelson also lost a tight two-setter, 8-6 in the second-set tiebreaker, at No. 2 (6-3, 7-6).
