Willy Nelson

Willy Nelson represented The College of Wooster on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team for men's tennis, as he picked up honorable mention status as a singles player, the league office announced on Thursday.

Nelson had the daunting task of manning No. 1 singles as a freshman for 12 of Wooster's 19 matches, facing some of the top players across the NCAA Div. III Central Region. He recorded five total wins, including a 6-0, 6-3 decision at No. 1 against Nebraska Wesleyan University on March 18, and nearly missed out on several others, having lost third-set super tiebreakers three times.

As a team, the Fighting Scots went 5-14 this season and placed ninth in the NCAC.
