The College of Wooster came close to sweeping Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday, had two extremely close matches went its way, but the Fighting Scots still chalked up another decisive victory, 7-2, in men's tennis action at the Luttinger Family Tennis Center in Delaware, Ohio.

The Scots (8-4) have now won five of their last six matches, each by a comfortable margin, and today's was their first over the Battling Bishops (10-9) since the 2010 season.

Titas Bera and Jack Buchan had a tough challenge at No. 1 doubles, as they took on an Ohio Wesleyan pairing with a 9-1 record over its last 10 matches. They nearly eked out the win, but came up just short, 9-7, in a highly-competitive battle.

The Scots picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, though, with Willy Nelson and Harrison Suttle rolling to an 8-2 triumph at the second-spot.

In singles, Bera cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1, while Nelson (6-4, 6-1) and Milo Saurman (6-3, 6-3) also made short work of their opponents at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

The Scots faced more resistance at other spots in the lineup, like at No. 4, where Jacob Pine gutted out an impressive 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 10-6 victory. Pine is second on the team this season with 12 wins in singles competition.

Next, Wooster begins the North Coast Athletic Conference East Division portion of its schedule when it visits Oberlin College (6-4) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
