The College of Wooster was home to one of the top freshman singles players within the region during the 2014-15 year, and Titas Bera was recognized as such, voted on to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team for men's tennis, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Bera, the No. 20 player in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region rankings, won 16 singles matches (16-10) during his debut season, and started at the top of Wooster's lineup from the outset, going 10-8 in dual matches at No. 1.

Bera, who added 10 victories as a doubles player, burst on to the scene, first beating a starter from nationally-ranked Kenyon College and two of Denison University's top-three players, then advancing to the Round of 32 at the ITA Central Region Championships during the fall portion of the season. In the spring, notable wins came against Wabash College's No. 1, who wound up on the All-NCAC First Team, as well as the top players from Allegheny College and Wittenberg University, both second-team all-conference picks.

As a team, Wooster went 10-10 under first-year head coach Zachary Hasenyager, matching its win total from a year ago. The Scots took seventh-place in the highly-competitive NCAC, which currently features three teams in the ITA national rankings.
