WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster men's tennis team bounced back from a tough stretch against nationally- and regionally-ranked opponents with a 9-0 win over Allegheny College, the program's first victory over the Gators since 2009, while senior Jack Buchan broke the century mark after earning his 100th and 101st career victories as part of "Parents' Day" on Saturday afternoon at D.J. Hard Tennis Courts.

Buchan and classmate Davis Elkins, the winningest double pair in program history, won 8-5 at No. 1 to improve to 17-11 on the year as part of a Wooster (7-16, 1-3 North Coast Athletic Conference East Division) doubles sweep. At No. 2, junior Titas Bera and sophomore Jesse DeWitt won 8-1 while junior Andrew Long and first-year Nathan Devereux blanked Allegheny's (4-14, 0-3 NCAC East) Derek Sawer and Mike Seigel, 8-0.

After becoming the ninth Scot in program history to join the 100-win club, Buchan went for his 101st against Colton Johnson-Taylor at No. 2 singles. The senior could not earn the break in the opening set, falling 6-7 (5) before recovering with a 6-3 second-set win. Tied at 6-6 in the decisive third set tiebreaker, Buchan closed with four straight points.

Prior to that, Devereux was part of the first singles match to shake hands, winning in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at No. 5. Clinching the team win for Wooster was junior Bera, the 15th-ranked player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Central Region, as he won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1. Dewitt, in the No. 4 spot, won 6-4, 6-1.

Following DeWitt was Elkins, who topped Siegel, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles before Buchan made it an 8-0 Wooster lead at No. 2. Long closed the match in dramatic fashion at No. 6 singles with another comeback three-set victory. The junior dropped the opener, 4-6, before winning the second set, 6-2, en route to a 10-5 win in the third-set tiebreaker.

Up next, Wooster travels to Crawfordsville, Ind. to take on Wabash College (9-13, 1-2 NCAC West) on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m.
