Men's Tennis Travels to Denison, Suffers Two Losses

Joaquin Abos Amo had a pair of close doubles defeats on Saturday.

The College of Wooster men's tennis team took a pair of 9-0 losses to Denison University on Saturday in the opening of NCAC play.

In match one, the top two doubles flights were rather competitive. At No. 1, Joaquin Abos Amo and Shivam Dewan lost 8-6, while Alex Drewes and Nebyou Minassie fell 8-5 in the No. 2 flight.

Singles action did not go the Scots way as each flight fell in straights sets. Vakul Nath had a competitive second set in the No. 3 flight but fell 6-0, 6-4.

Abos Amo fell 6-1, 6-1 playing in the No. 1 flight, while Drewes dropped a 6-3, 6-1 No. 2 singles flight.

In match two, the No. 2 doubles team of Abos Amo and Jeremy Williams was a highlight in an 8-4 defeat.

Minassie fell 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles flight. Nath moved up to the No. 2 flight and lost 6-1, 6-3, and Connor Streeter took a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 3.

The two teams will meet again Sunday in Wooster.
