First-year Dixit Earns First Athlete of Week honor

First-year Jay Dixit collected his first North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honor after leading The College of Wooster men's tennis team to a 6-3 win over Lourdes University last week.

Dixit played the only three setter of the match but came away victorious in the No. 1 flight, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. He also teamed with classmate Anthony VanOyen for an 8-5 win in the No. 1 doubles flight.

The team of Dixit and VanOyen are now 6-1 together in doubles play. In singles action, Dixit is 6-4 on the year and 3-1 when playing in the No. 1 position.

The win moved Wooster to 4-1 in the early goings of the season. They will play Ohio Northern University on Saturday at Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington.
