First-year Anthony VanOyen had a perfect week across three team matches, earning himself his second North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors, while guiding The College of Wooster men's tennis team to a 3-0 record.

VanOyen's toughest competition came in the team's 5-4 win against Oberlin College. He came back from a first set loss in his No. 2 singles flight to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 and also won a tough No. 3 doubles flight at 8-7 (0).

In the team's 8-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan, VanOyen again had a close No. 3 doubles match, winning 8-7 (4), while winning at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.

Then in the team's 9-0 win over Wittenberg University, VanOyen won 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 (4) in his No. 2 singles match and 8-1 in the No. 3 doubles match.

VanOyen teamed with Alex Anikeeff for all three of his doubles wins.

On the year, VanOyen has compiled a 19-4 singles record and a 12-3 record in the No. 2 flight alone. He also is 14-10 across doubles play.
