Bera Named to NCAC All-Decade Team

Titas Bera, Wooster Tennis NCAC Release

College of Wooster men's tennis great Titas Bera is part of the North Coast Athletic Conference 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Bera earned NCAC Player of the Year honors as a junior in 2017, becoming the first Fighting Scot since Nilesh Saldanha in 2003 to claim the top singles honor. Bera ended 2017 as the highest regionally-ranked singles player among NCAC East teams, finishing as the 12th-ranked player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Central Region.

As the Scots' No. 1 singles player, Bera finished 18-9 overall, including 14-8 in dual matches and 3-1 in conference play.  The following year, Bera earned a second straight first-team All-NCAC award in singles, finishing 21-5 with an 18-3 mark in the top flight. He ended the year as the 15th-ranked player in the ITA Central Region en route to a fourth all-conference certificate. Bera became the fourth player in program history to earn yearly conference honors in singles all four seasons. He ended his career third in wins at No. 1 (52), sixth in overall singles wins (70), and seventh in combined wins (singles and doubles) at 121.

Bera earned five All-NCAC honors overall, scoring the last in doubles in 2018. He went on to earn a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and was a College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District® honoree as a senior.

NCAC All-Decade Team criteria for tennis included a NCAC Player of the Year honor between 2014 and 2023 or at least three first-team All-NCAC certificates.
