Men's Tennis Team, Individuals Recognized by ITA
Six individuals named scholar athletes
The College of Wooster men's tennis team improved its efforts in the classroom this past year and were named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for the first time since 2020.
In addition, the Scots added six individuals, up one from a year ago, as Scholar Athletes. Those who made the cut were Arnav Yadav, Ian Loh, Jay Dixit, Namit Misra, Shivam Dewan and Walker Wood.
The GPA requirements for an ITA Scholar-Athlete is at least 3.5, while for the All-Academic Team selection, a team must have a GPA of 3.2 or above.
Earlier this year, all six were named to Wooster's spring semester Athletic Director's Honor Roll. In addition, Misra was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
On the court, the Scots collected nine wins this past season, falling in a tight 5-4 match to Wabash College in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal to conclude its season.
Yadav was one of two players, along with Anthony VanOyen, to win 20 singles matches. Dixit was the NCAC's Newcomer of the Year after going 14-10 in singles play and 9-13 in doubles.
Dewan collected double digit wins in singles and doubles play. Misra had 11 wins on the year, while Wood and Loh saw limited action.
