Junior Lauren Swinehart has been very productive during The College of Wooster's spring break games in Fort Myers, Fla., and was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for softball, the league announced Monday.

The Fighting Scots posted a 5-5 record last week, thanks in large part to Swinehart's numbers at the plate. The speedy outfielder batted .407 (13-for-32), with four doubles, one homerun, eight runs, and two RBI, while also going 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts.

Some highlights include her efforts in Wooster's 7-6 win over Abright College, where she homered early in the game, and then sprinted home to score the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh inning. Swinehart also went 5-for-7 with four runs scored during the Scots' doubleheader sweep of Hamilton College.

Wooster will play four more games in Florida, with two Tuesday and two Wednesday, before returning from Florida. The team's home opener will be Mar. 30 against Marietta College.
