Junior pitcher Jenn Horton, who has helped The College of Wooster softball team get off to an 8-4 start this spring, was named North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Horton made seven appearances in the pitching circle last week and picked up three wins and a save. She recorded a 0.82 earned run average after allowing just four earned runs in 34.0 innings of work. The hurler scattered 23 hits and struck out 29 batters on the week.

Her most impressive outing came in 1-0 shutout over St. Olaf College (March 18), where she gave up only two hits and struck out eight batters over eight innings to pick up the win. She also was credited with the first save of her career against Worcester State University (March 17), after she pitched the final three frames to preserve the victory.

The Scots will finish up their 16-game spring break trip with four more games over the next two days.
