The College of Wooster softball team has gotten off to a strong start during its annual spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla., and during 10 games last week, no one was more productive offensively for the Fighting Scots than Paige Goldberg, who was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Goldberg, a sophomore catcher, batted .343 last week with six runs scored, two doubles, one triple, and six RBI, plus added four stolen bases. She also registered two walks to go along with her 12 hits, posting a .378 on base percentage as well as a .457 slugging percentage.

Her biggest game came in a 5-2 extra-inning win over Nazareth College, in which she collected three hits (3-for-5) and knocked in the go-ahead run with a single in the top of the eighth. She also scored two runs, and leads the team with 10 runs scored on the year.

The Scots will wrap up their southern swing with a pair of games Wednesday, then return home for a doubleheader at Otterbein University next Wednesday.
