Demi Hart drove in four of The College of Wooster's five runs during Thursday's doubleheader at Ohio Wesleyan University, as the sophomore standout hit a two-run single in the opener that highlighted the Scots' 2-1 victory, and then in the nightcap, she delivered a two-run homer, the first of her career, although the Battling Bishops triumphed 4-3.

The Scots (16-18, 4-10 NCAC) turned to pitcher Gina Pirolozzi in game one, and she responded with quite possibly her best effort of the season, as she allowed just two hits, one a solo home run, and struck out three batters to improve to 9-8 overall.

Wooster got all the offense it needed in the fifth inning, as Hart belted a single up the middle of the infield that scored Taylor Raybuck and Erica Villa, giving her team the lead for good.

Hart continued to swing a hot bat in the second game, hitting one over the fence to straightaway center field in the first inning to put Wooster in front 2-0.

Ohio Wesleyan (12-18, 5-9 NCAC) responded in the bottom of the frame with two of its own runs, both unearned, which was the story in this contest, as all four of the Bishops' runs came courtesy of Wooster miscues.

Down 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Wooster got its opportunity to capitalize off an error, and an alert Paige Goldberg scampered home from third base to knot the game at three apiece. The Bishops took the lead back in the bottom of the sixth, though, and then retired the Scots' batters 1-2-3 to close out the seventh.

Hart's four-RBI day brought her season total to 20, which surpassed the 19 she recorded a season ago. Also noteworthy, Kasey Fiedler and Villa joined Hart as the Scots with hits in both games of the doubleheader.

Next, Wooster wraps up the North Coast Athletic Conference portion of its schedule with a visit to Oberlin College (4-26, 1-11 NCAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
