The College of Wooster broke out of its recent offensive slump with 13 runs on 22 hits in a doubleheader with Oberlin College, highlighted by a 9-1 run-rule victory in the second game, which capped off the North Coast Athletic Conference portion of its schedule Saturday afternoon at Culhane Field in Oberlin, Ohio. The Scots won the opening game 4-2.

Eight different Wooster (18-18, 6-10 NCAC) players recorded a hit in game two, and four of them had multi-hit games, including Demi Hart, who stroked two doubles and a three-run home run as part of a dominant effort at the plate (3-for-4, four RBI).

Hart's round-tripper came during a five-run fourth inning, where the Scots batted through the lineup and then some to create their 9-1 advantage.

The onslaught started with Paige Goldberg drawing a walk, and then Erica Villa hitting a bunt single, which led to Hart hitting her second bomb this week. The Scots didn't stop there, as consecutive singles from Carly Schoenstein, Skye Patterson, and Jenn Horton loaded the bases, and shortly after, Aundrea Atwell plated a runner with an RBI single to right field. Finally, Taylor Raybuck walked in a run to give Wooster yet another tally.

Pitching with an eight-run lead, Horton cruised through Oberlin's (4-30, 1-15 NCAC) lineup in the fourth and fifth innings, allowing just three harmless singles, to give Wooster the quick, run-rule win.

The outcome of the lid-lifter wasn't decided until the final inning, as Wooster trailed 2-1 heading into the seventh frame. The Scots got the timely runs they needed, though, as Goldberg hit an RBI single, and later, Hart continued producing runs with a double to left field that scored two and gave Wooster its 4-2 margin.

Gina Pirolozzi was in the circle for the first game and allowed just five hits while striking out three to collect her 10th win.

Overall, Hart amassed five hits and six RBI, while Goldberg added three hits and three runs scored.

Wooster will wrap up its season at home with a non-conference doubleheader against Heidelberg University (12-22) on Monday beginning at 3:30 p.m.
